NPAHN

The Northern Producer Animal Health Network (NPAHN) acts as the umbrella organization for VSCs

NPAHN covers all areas of the Province of Ontario north of and including the County of Renfrew, the County of Haliburton, the Township of Addington Highlands, the Township of Carlow/Mayo, the Township of Limerick, the Township of Wollaston, the Georgian Bluffs Township, the Town of South Bruce Peninsula, and the District Municipality of Muskoka

Responsibility for the Program was transferred to the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines (MNDM) in 1997. While MNDM is responsible for the overall administration of the Program, two stakeholder organizations representing veterinarians and producers provide in-put on Program:

  1. Veterinarians, represented by the Designated Area Veterinarian Association(DAVA)
  2. Animal producers, represented by 22 Veterinary Services Committees (VSCs) across the Program’s service area.
